Frequently Asked Questions about your Campus Card

A. We apologize for the inconvenience, please bring your Campus Card to Card Services so that we can assess your specific issue and create a solution.
PLEASE DO NOT PUNCH A HOLE IN YOUR CARD!
A. You may want to punch a hole directly in your Campus Card in order to be able to place it directly onto a badge holder or lanyard. PLEASE DO NOT PUNCH A HOLE IN YOUR CARD! The Campus Card contains special technology that will be damaged and rendered inoperable by hole-punching. A $20 replacement fee will be charged for a damaged card due to hole punching. A basic ID holder is available from Card Services. The KSU Bookstore also carries a variety of ID holders available for purchase.
A. There is a $20 replacement fee for replacing your Campus Card.
A. Your Campus Card is used for campus identification purposes, accessing gated parking areas (starting fall 2014), riding the B.O.B. shuttles, access to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, copying and printing, dining services, discounts at participating local businesses, and it also displays your KSU ID# and NetID.
A. Access is granted by the administrative authority in your department who must email/fax Gary Garner (the campus locksmith) a Key Request Form.
A. No, keys must be ordered through the campus locksmith, but you may pickup your keys at the Card Services Office 24/48 hours after your Key Request Form has been submitted.
A. To sponsor a long-term visitor a ‘service request form‘ must be filled out and returned to the Card Services office. Please remember that if a NetID is requested, a date of birth (DOB), and the last four digits of his/her social security number (SSN) is required.

KSU HIGHER ONE Debit Card FAQ

You will use the KSU Higher One Debit Card to select how you want to receive your refund money. Once you have your card, simply view your choices and make your selection. If you choose to open a Higher One checking account, the KSU Debit Card can be used to make purchases wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted. It is important to note that the KSU Debit Card is NOT A CREDIT CARD, but rather a DEBIT CARD backed by the purchasing power of the MasterCard network.
A. Upon registering for classes, all students will be issued a KSU Debit Card because it is required for any refunds released by Kennesaw State University. When it comes to managing your money and receiving Financial Aid refunds, you deserve choices! Kennesaw State University has partnered with Higher One to deliver any money we may have for you; and to offer you smarter way to manage that money. When is comes to deciding how to get your money, just choose the option that best fits you.
A. The card will be mailed to the address you verified during online registration.
A. You can expect your card to arrive within 7-10 days after you register for classes.
**DO NOT THROW IT AWAY!** A. Activate your card and select your refund preference using the instructions included with your card. Be sure to keep the card in a safe place and do not forget to update any changes in contact information such as phone number, e-mail or mailing address!

A: Students have three options and may change their choice as often as necessary.

  1. OneAccount
    With this option, the KSU Debit Card is linked to the OneAccount, a free checking account linked to the KSU Debit Card that will allow you to access funds at ATMs at over 30 million merchants worldwide that accept MasterCard.
  2. Transfer Funds to another bank (ACH)
    With this option, funds are transferred electronically to the bank of your choice but may not be available for three or more days depending on your banks’ policies. Per FDIC regulations, transfers cannot start until Higher One receives a signed ACH Transfer Form.
  3. Paper check mailed to the address provided to Higher One.
    With this option, Higher One will issue a paper check and mail it to you. You are responsible for keeping your address on file with Higher One current. With this selection, please allow 5 or more business days for delivery.

Parking Permit FAQ

A. All parking decals are to be placed on the front windshield on the inside in the lower left corner. Individuals with parking hangtags should hang the tag from the rearview mirror with the colored side facing out; or on the dashboard on the drivers’ side with the colored side facing up.
A. Parking selections and corresponding decals are valid during the fall and spring semesters of an academic year. New parking selections must be made every fall semester. If a new area is selected, a new decal is required for that area. If the same area is selected, the existing decal is still valid.
A. There is a $25 fee to replace a parking decal or hangtag. Should you lose either credential, immediately come to Card Services to replace them. Parking enforcement does not distinguish between lost and no decal violations.
A. Bring in a police report, vehicle incident report, or other pertinent official documentation and we will replace your permit free of charge. Otherwise a $25 replacement fee will apply to your account.
